Lambeth Primary Schools Football League (LPSFL) aims to provide organised, competitive football for boys and girls attending primary or junior schools in Lambeth. Its objective in doing this is to encourage physical and social development, teamworking , discipline and the ethic of fair play in which winning is important but is not seen as something to be achieved at all costs. LPSFL seeks to introduce Lambeth children to the benefits of playing football and in so doing hopes to help both boys and girls maintain an active lifestyle.
LPSFL offers out of school hours regular 11 a side league and cup football from September to Easter and a Summer one day 7 a side tournament. Any schools wishing to participate or which would like more information should contact Gary Cornforth the development worker by phone or e-mail. See below for details.
The league works with qualified coaches and aims to make available to schools football coaches at all levels of the FA coaching programme. All individuals are qualified in child protection, basic first aid, and football skills and tactics coaching and are all police checked.
We also work with the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA) in running referee qualification training.
The League is delighted to announce that we have once again secured the use of 2 junior pitches at the South Bank University Sports Ground, Thurney Road, Dulwich. The facilities here are excellent and we had formerly used them until last season when pressure on the site meant we were unable to play there in 2006/07. This is in addition to Lambeth Council's Rosendale Road Playing Fields in Herne Hill and the Southwark Sports Ground on Dulwich Common courtesy of Southwark Council. Both these venues have junior sized pitches and goals and changing facilities.
